On our way to Carmel along Highway 1,
we stopped to enjoy the view and take pictures of
the huge waves splashing on this great rock,

little did we know what a wonderful discovery we about to make!

Elephant seals!! So close we could almost touch them!

They didn't seem to care about the crowd of humans above them.

A brand new baby too!

The tan ones are 1 year olds.

Two males were noisily fighting near the water.
